Coldshock

A cold shock means that you store the colonized substrate with a casing layer and a closed top for 24 hours at 2 to 4º C, before you set it loose to the fruiting conditions. This works as some kind of trigger, so that the mycelium understands that it's time to grow into a beautiful mushrooms. With some sorts of mycelium the cold shock has a greatly positive influence on the end result.

Watch out: with temperatures bellow zero the mycelium won't live long!
