Cultivation techniques

Making a sporeprint
Making a sporeprint is the easiest way to take the spores from a mushroom. A sporeprint can be used at a later moment to start the cultivation proces.

Making a sporesyringe
The spores at a print are in most cases too dry to germinate in a substrate. That's why you have to hydrate the spores first. So you have to turn the print into a sporesyringe first.

Psilocybe cubensis on riceflourcakes
The cultivation of the Psilocybe cubensis on riceflourcakes is considered the easiest way to grow this mushroom with. This method is also called the PF TEK.

The casing layer
With a lot of methods a casing layer is used. The PF TEK is actually the only method where a casing layer is not used. The usage of a casing layer is highly advisable.

Psilocybe cubensis on rye
The Psilocybe cubensis grows very wel on a substrate of only rye and covered with a casinglayer. This method is pretty easy and has good results.

Psilocybe cubensis on straw
Straw is a very good substrate for this mushroom. This method does take some more time and efforts, but is surely a good method for everybody who wants to grow on a little bit a larger scale.

Growing the Panaeolus cyanescens
The cultivation of the Panaeolus cyanescens is not very different from the Psilocybe cubensis. But tthe Panaeolus cyanescens is a lot more vulnerable and fragile then the Psilocybe cubensis, which makes this mushroom a bit more difficult to grow.

Growing the Psilocybe azurescens
The Psilocybe azurescens is a cold weather species. It's only possible to cultivate this mushroom outdoors. The influence of all variables in nature for this mushroom are to complicated to do this artificially.

Growing truffels (Philosopher Stones)
There are 2 species which are known for their capability to form sclerotia throughout the substrate: The Psilocybe mexicana and the Psilocybe tampanensis. These 2 mushrooms take a very special place in the world of psilocybin mushrooms.

Multispore and single strains
A lot of people inoculate their substrate with a sporesyringe. The more experienced cultivator inoculates his substrate with a so-called "single strain". Single strains are made with agar media in petridishes.

Cloning of mushrooms
The cloning of a mushroom is a very good manner to preserve the genetical blueprint of a mushroom. Cloning is also done with agar media in petri dishes.

Growing in bulk
When you have a little bit experience and know how it all works, it is not that difficult to get large ammounts of colonised substrate in a short time.

Storage of a mushroomculture
If you have very good or remarkable results with a specific specie or strain, it can be wise or handy to save this one for a later moment. This can be done best in culture tubes with agar media.
